Housekeeping Assistant Manager

New Cairo, Egypt

Job purpose: 

Support the Housekeeping Manager with some tasks and will be replacing him/her during their absence in some specific tasks. He/she will support the other Supervisors to ensure that the designated area (s) including sports courts, outlets and utilities are kept clean following KODE hygiene and quality standards. He/she will be accountable for receiving the department materials and tools from the main store and distributing them among the supervisors. 

What do we expect from you:  

Operations: 

  • Ensures departmental goals are achieved 

  • Participate in setting the department hiring plan with the Housekeeping Manager and supervisors 

  • Coordinate the master shifts scheduling plan as well as the annual leaves plan of the department in collaboration with the supervisor to avoid overlaps or gaps 

  • Receive, monitor and distribute the cleaning materials and tools  and requesting for the needed stock from the HK Manager 

  • Keeping the HK manager informed on the status of the housekeeping equipment to take the necessary action (s) to ensure they are functioning at all times 

  • Coordinate with the HSE department with regards to: 

  • The awareness sessions to the department staff and keep records of training attendants  

  • Recording safety incidents and mitigating actions 

  • Replace his/her peers Supervisors in case of shortage of staff to cover the gap and secure service continuity 

  • Perform day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork  

People Management: 

  • Participate in screening housekeeping applicants  

  • Train the team on the proper use of the equipment and materials  

  • Lead by example in owning and living KODE values and culture 

Continuous improvement: 

  • Participate with the Supervisors in recommending improvements in the service  

  • Raise any operation stoppage problems or any other problems to the Housekeeping Manager to discuss and find solutions 

 

What do you need to perform your role: 

To perform your job successfully, you need to have the following minimum requirements: 

Education and experience: 

  • High school diploma. Education background in Hospitality is a plus 
  • 2-4 years in supervising team 

Skills and knowledge: 

  • Very good supervisory skills  

  • Excellent execution abilities  

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft office 

  • Good communication skills 

  • Full knowledge of all cleaning supplies and recommended chemicals 

  • Ability to follow directions thoroughly and work with minimal supervision

  • Superior customer service  

  • Collaborative by nature
