Procurement Specialist

Overview: 

As a Buying Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in the procurement process of goods and services for the company. Your responsibilities will encompass sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of products while maintaining quality standards and cost-effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supplier Sourcing: Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, conduct market research, and establish partnerships with reliable vendors to meet the company’s purchasing needs. 

  • Negotiation: Negotiate favorable terms and conditions with suppliers regarding pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and quality standards to achieve cost savings and maximize value for the organization. 

  • Contract Management: Draft, review, and manage contracts with suppliers, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, as well as adherence to company policies and procedures. 

  • Order Processing: Coordinate and process purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and completeness of order details, specifications, and delivery instructions while adhering to budgetary constraints. 

  • Inventory Management: Collaborate with inventory management teams to optimize stock levels, minimize excess inventory, and mitigate supply chain risks by forecasting demand and monitoring consumption patterns. 

  • Quality Assurance: Work closely with quality control teams to establish and maintain quality standards for purchased goods and services, conducting inspections and audits as necessary to ensure product integrity. 

  • Supplier Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, addressing any issues or concerns promptly, fostering collaboration, and exploring opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation. 

  • Market Analysis: Stay informed about market trends, industry developments, and emerging technologies relevant to the procurement function, providing insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making. 

  • Cost Analysis: Analyze purchasing data and expenditure patterns to identify cost-saving opportunities, drive efficiency improvements, and optimize procurement processes. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. 

  • Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, preferably in a similar industry or role. 

  • Strong negotiation skills with a track record of achieving cost savings and favorable terms. 

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. 

  • Proficiency in procurement software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite. 

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines. 

  • Knowledge of relevant regulations, compliance standards, and ethical sourcing practices.
